There are no deductions or exemptions from taxes of any kind have a therapy dog.

A portion of the cost of certain types of dog can help the medical expenses that are not reimbursed. Service animals will help us as a "durable medical equipment" as well as a wheelchair or walker, and that makes their creation and maintenance of a medical expense. The IRS does not recognize all types of assistance dogs, including dog owners without documentation and medical alert / response dogs.

A dog that is using the therapy to be not to visit hospitals and nursing homes, the team doctor for you, then it would not benefit from this deduction.

I doubt that is the organization of processing a tax deduction. Probably a tax (purchases get without having to pay sales tax), not to a group of therapy dog, but as a 501 (c) 3 public charity.

There is great public confusion between therapy dogs and service dogs. These are two completely different things. Many dogs have a job (therapy dogs, police dogs,Dogs, dogs, search and rescue dogs, hunting, etc..) Only the service will be covered by the inability of the federal government and state is, as the Americans with Disabilities Act. Guide dogs may accompany their drivers with disabilities, to places where dogs are prohibited. Therapy dogs can not. Service dogs are granted an exception for the rental and hotels, not stay where pets and be excluded from registration fees and company, as are medical devices, no pets.

Legally therapy dogs as pets. They have more rights than the animals and their owners have more rights than other farmers. Therapy dog certification range of facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes, that the dog has received training, evaluations of temperament, screening, and liability insurance. This is no guarantee that the therapy dog can go to a hospital at the request of the owner. You can only with permission of the management of the hospital. The reasons for the certification will receive a liability insurance and to obtain for use in documents or convinceE hospital to visit their facilities.
