Cardiac Chair An Aspiring Doctor And Vasovagal Syncope?

An aspiring doctor and vasovagal syncope? - cardiac chair

I ask the medical schools in the next year, but something happened today makes me uneasy. I am in my last year and this morning, (my aunt is an anesthesiologist) called me and said he was asked on the way to emergency surgery, and if I wanted to see.

The doctor was, what he said would be "temporary transvenous pacemaker" activity, a pacemaker in a patient suffering from heart problems implant. I saw everything with so much interest, but suddenly I felt a lot of unusual sweating on my face. Then my knees started to feel strange and I felt a tingling in my head. My aunt took one look and I often leave her chair and gave me some quick and alcohol swabs told me that the smell for a while after 10 minutes. I felt very good and had the opportunity to sit back and told me what happened to me happens to many people, but now, I'm afraid it might not be a doctor ...

Was normal? What should I do?

Her aunt was right. This is very common. This is not something to be feared. I had several students who thought they could not with the sights and smells, or whatever, and all were safe when done with the class. Clinical time to do things that will harden into reality. If your smart enough not to lose as a doctor, that knowledge. You could be one to cure the common cold!

Applying to medical school. An episode that does not stop their goals? A syncope can happen to anyone at any time. All the excitement may have contributed to the episode. For me, after I had a biopsy of my thyroid. I have the "Spock" of treatment. The way it was laid on the table and the pressure on both sides of my neck was the result. I hope it never happens again. Do not be afraid of an episode about the status of their dreams. You can see a doctor. Good luck.

Yes, that's normal. Relax. You will have to anymore because they get used to.
